The Brief
Imagindairy combines AI with precision fermentation to produce dairy proteins. Its technology center at Matam, Haifa, needed one functional design for R&D microbiology and analytical laboratories and an industrial-grade fermentation pilot plant, inside the structural limits of a hi-tech park building.
What We Did
- Functional programming: the space and technical program for the laboratories, fermentation suites and downstream processing areas.
- Hygienic zoning: contamination barriers, material airlocks and gowning separating the wet labs from the live microbial pilot suites.
- HVAC and extraction: requirements for lab exhaust, biosafety containment, the heat load of the fermenters and temperature and humidity control.
- Utilities: deionized and purified water, clean dry air, electrical loads and biowaste handling.
Result
One engineering design that fits research laboratories and pilot-scale processing together, ready for scale-up and validation.
